Yesterday I bit the bullet and decided to switch up my honey hued locks for a darker tone- something closer to my natural colour. The blonde had been bothering me for a while, it felt a little bland and didn’t seem to do any favours for my eyes or skin tone and with every wash it got blonder and blonder (despite colour stay shampoo and conditioner). My hairdresser tried to persuade me to keep the blonde, but I had my mind set and images of Mila Kunis and Megan Fox, not to mention all the Dolce and Gabbana campaign models in my head. In the end we did a mini compromise, and she kept some of the blonde back into little packets (infused with Kerastase Elixir conditioner) in order to give the look of a sun-kissed brunette, and she coloured the rest in an Inoa cool brown shade as I was adamant I didn’t want the brown to look too warm.
I was thrilled with the result and instantly felt more sophisticated and my features felt more defined. Just as I was leaving the hairdressers for a night of essay writing I got some amazing news, our friends had just got engaged, so off to an impromptu engagement party we went! For the occasion I decided to wear this Mango dress, a biker jacket, some Zara boots and and my trusty Chanel handbag.
I’m loving my darker hair and finding that I can be a lot more experimental with makeup- I can go as light or heavy as I want..I also purchased the new Bourjois Cream Blush yesterday in a peachy tone so looking forward to sharing my thoughts on that with you tomorrow.
Before and after
Have a lovely Thursday!
