Hurrah – Marc Jacobs beauty has finally hit UK shores, and let me tell you it was well worth the wait. I headed down to their flagship store on Mount Street to visit the first beauty counter and whiled away a good half an hour swatching away and making an informed decision on what to purchase. Whilst the foundation looked dreamy, I just couldn’t justify yet another foundation when I already have so many on the go. Instead I went for the dreamy Lolita palette and nail polish in the shade Delphine.
The eyeshadows are beautifully pigmented and buttery soft, I love the middle peach shade that it is both matte and shimmery at the same time and works beautifully with the lightest brown shade. You can pretty much use this palette every day and not get bored, just as ideal for a paired down day time neutral wash of colour as a full on smokey eye using the stunning mocha coloured shade. A true winner, and totally justified the £40 price tag.
The nail polish is just divine with an almost reflective quality, it’s that shiny and glossy. I’ve only had it on for a day so I can’t pass judgement on chip resistance, but I’ve been informed that it lasts a good seven days – a bold statement and something a intend on testing out!
I think the Marc Jacobs beauty line has obviously been a long time in the making as each product is stunning, beautifully packaged and well thought out. Next on my hit list is the genius gel foundation (after trying a small sample I can tell you that it’s the most spectacular finish I’ve ever come across) and the eyeliners which I’m told are wonderful.
