Let’s get oily…

let'sgetoily

Oils have been the hot new buzzword in in the beauty world for a while now, but I thought I’d dip my toe well and truly in to the new must have formula before reporting back to you all. This has included a menu of body, hair and finally face oils which I’ve trialled to see if they really are all that they’re cracked up to be. Seeing as there are a plethora of oil free formulations of makeup and skincare aimed at us combination and oily skinned gals, plying our faces with the stuff doesn’t seem conducive to good skin….or so we thought. I recently tried DHC Cleansing Oil* which is enriched with Vitamin E and olive oil and is designed to rid skin of impurities and dissolve dirt and makeup, after rubbing it in to dry skin and removing with a warm flannel my skin felt hydrated and clean and not in the least bit greasy…this may be my new favoured cleanser of choice. I’ve been using Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse* for years now, not only do I love the scent but I love that it’s a multi purpose oil that you can rub on dry shins pre party or as a deep conditioning treatment on parched hair, you can also use it as a face oil although I’m yet to try that. I’ve recently started using Moroccan Oil* on wet hair to rid that horrible ‘fluffy and fuzzy’ feeling that freshly washed locks can sometimes have, it does a wonderful job at weightlessly ridding hair of any post wash frizz and maintaining that sleek and polished blowdry look even after getting caught in wind and rain- a must have for anyone who hates flyaways and static hair as much as I do.. For a finishing touch post blow dry nothing beats L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil* to add unprecedented levels of shine and glossiness and to separate hair in a bedhead way, very Victoria’s Secret angel. For a relaxing Sunday evening I love Mandara Spa Tropical* Blooms Nourishing Beauty Oil* which is infused with my favourite scent- jasmine and ylang ylang, you can double up on this and use it both in your bath and after all over your body to really nourish and hydrate and wake up the next morning smelling delicious! None of the aforementioned oils are particularly pricey which means you can dip your toe into the proverbial oil trend without breaking the bank, and like me you’ll see that oil doesn’t equal grease and spots, but glow, hydration and more often than not some fine smelling skin/hair!

*PR Samples- this post is not sponsored but all the products mentioned happened to have been samples, doesn’t mean that I don’t love them and would certainly repurchase myself!
