Budget friendly Italian beauty brand Kiko has been on my radar for a while, but I was saving it for my trip to Italy. By chance I found a whole Kiko store in Verona and got a little over excited. The shop is meticulous with products arranged with precision. The signature colour scheme (purple and white) continues throughout and it is incredibly easy to navigate with products arranged by their categories, all eyeshadows in one place and all lips in another etc, which makes it a breeze to shop.
However, I was pragmatic and rational in my shopping (totally out of character) as I’ve been enjoying my streamlined approach to beauty and skincare over the holiday. I only ended up making two purchases- the Kiko lipstick which (as I said in Saturday’s post) reminds me of the Chanel lipshine texture and the colour is almost identical to En Vogue which was a limited edition colour for Summer 2012. It works perfectly with a tan, and I prefer to wear it without any other eye makeup in the day time so it really stands out. As it’s quite glossy and bright it fights too much with a smokey eye and looks a little to Barbie.
My second purchase was the body mist in Sunny Island, which smells divine and is ideal for freshening up after sweaty days on the beach/poolside, but could easily work for London after tube journeys. Sprayed all over the staying power doesn’t last long, but it does the job of refreshing. It’s light enough for the beach bag and the bottle looks incredibly glamorous. I think the total of my shopping came to under 10 euros, which is pretty good, especially considering the quality of the lipstick. As I’m off to France and leaving Italy tomorrow I doubt I’ll do anymore Kiko shopping but I’ve heard whisperings that it is due to land on UK shores soon….The shadow sticks and amaizngly pigmented eyeshadows are top of my list!
They have Kiko stores in Westfield white city
Oh cool! Probably should have known that- thanks for letting me know 🙂
