At the very end of November I was invited along to a beautiful event held at the Jo Malone townhouse to celebrate the launch of their new limited edition fragrances inspired by a British herb garden. The event itself was stunning and we sampled all the fragrances – each unique and tantalisingly incredible; I took home Wild Strawberry & Parsley as well as Sorrel & Lemon Thyme. Without consciously realising I put them to one side in my dressing table. They weren’t being discarded, just saved. I realised a few days ago that I was saving them until after Christmas as to me the freshness inspired by the herb garden felt like they warranted a fresh new year and shouldn’t be intermingled with headier Christmassy and festive fragrances (think Pomegranate Noir).
I’m so glad I saved them as now I feel they perfectly reflect the whole “new year new me” vibe. Whilst most people turn their noses up at that saying, I for one am relishing in it. Giving up sweet treats entirely, cutting down on gluten, doing short spurts at the gym daily and giving up negative vices such as reading gossip online, stalking people on social media (please tell me I’m not the only one to end up on my cousin’s friend’s fiance’s sister’s instagram account) and a few other personal things. I am feeling so much better already after a super indulgent Christmas break and I’m raring to go, spritzing on the fresh and vibrant Sorrel & Lemon Thyme or the sweet and zingy Wild Strawberry & Parsley is weirdly keeping me on track. Smell is such an important sense as it triggers a range of emotions and I find certain perfumes transport me to certain times of my life instantly. I hope that these two will always trigger a feeling of well being and health, optimism and new beginnings!
The fragrances are launching in March and will be £44.00 for 30ml. Just in time for that fresh early Spring feel – they’re also the ideal size to pop in your handbag!
I love the sound of Sorrel & Lemon Thyme. Will definitely check these out! xx
