Holiday Evenings Do’s and Don’ts

Optimized-IMG_6566

I’m nearing the end of my holiday, it has been pure bliss and just the right mix of fun and relaxation. With only two evenings left of the holiday remaining I thought I’d share some of my favourite tips for getting ready après beach:

DO wash your hair nightly: Between suncream, sweat, sand and either chlorine or sea water that mane is gonna need some TLC. A good double wash every evening is a necessity. When I’m at home in London I wash my hair every few days as I don’t want to upset the balance, however on holiday nightly hair washes are non negotiable.

DON’T blow dry: I think it is far chicer to leave hair do it’s thang and simply spray it with some salt spay (or nothing) and twizzle into a low bun to give it a natural wave. Once it has naturally died then brush out with a tangle teezer for soft holiday waves.

DO slather yourself in aftersun: Even if like me you have darker skin, and even if (like me) you slather yourself in SPF 50 all day every half an hour, a good after sun (my favourite is the Clarins gel) is paramount at ensuring your skin isn’t too traumatised by all of the sun exposure and that your tan lasts that much longer. I always swap my usual body lotion for a good after sun whilst away.

DON’T slather yourself in foundation: Trust me, on holiday you do not need it. Instead take a pea sized amount and dab on where needed and blend in well.

DO bronze up: if your current foundation is too pale, a good well blended bronzer can keep everything looking gorgeous and holiday-esque.

DON’T wear heels: I find stilettos on holiday are quite tacky and instead prefer either a low wedge/clog/or little sandals (gladiators look amazing as well).

DO find a holiday scent: Tom Ford Fleur De Portofino is my holiday fragrance of choice as it is light, sexy and Summery without being too overpowering. I also love the Ferragamo Signorina fragrances and the new Givenchy Black Dahlia for sexy Summer fragrances.

What are your do’s and don’ts for holiday evenings?

I absolutely love your dress in the photo above Tijan it’s GORGEOUS! Totally agree about the hair washing thing haha. I hate washing it every single day at home but on holiday it’s a must!! I always go for a moisturiser/bronzer duo or bb cream on holiday, foundations just feel too heavy in the heat! x

I do agree with your comment on not wearing heels MOST of the times (if you’re in places like Ibiza, Mykonos, Capri,…). But if you go to Cannes or Monaco for example, you’ll find that heels are a standard in certain places, if not required (although on a yacht it is always a no no)
