I’m by no meaning implying that French girls are lazy. But French girls do have damn good hair and it’s not down to weekly professional blow dries, keratin treatments, heated rollers or copious amounts of Elnett (guilty). It’s because of their laissez fiare attitude towards their tresses which makes them sexy, slightly messy and a little bit dirty (never greasy mind). I’ve found two products which can seriously cut down on preening time, and in the process make your hair look as though you’ve just stepped off the Isabel Marant catwalk..
I know that detox shampoos have a bad rep for drying out hair and stripping colour, but this one from Phyto is incredibly gentle and leaves hair feeling light as a feather and cleaner and softer than any other shampoo I’ve ever used, it has a faint scent of mint which leaves hair feeling even lovelier and lingers much longer than other shampoo scents. Rough dry your hair and brush through and you’ll be left with silky locks with zero frizz of flyaways. Due to being quite a deep cleansing shampoo I’ve found that I don’t need to wash hair as often, you can leave it for three days and it still wont look greasy…however to plump up the volume and really keep things fresh, keep a bottle of the Klorane Dry Shampoo (favoured by supermodel Arizona Muse) on hand to spruce things up and add some volume into the equation. To keep things even sexier, ditch the curling tongs and sleep with hair in a loose bun (a beauty tip favoured by Blake Lively and who wouldn’t want her hair!?) to wake up with soft and tousled waves. On extremely busy or lazy weeks these products are a god send in keeping my hair looking and feeling amazing with minimal effort. Mais bien sur!
You don’t have to head to Paris to get hold of these stellar and affordable products though, you can pick up the Phyto shampoo here and the Klorane Oil Control Dry Shampoo with Nettle from here.
