As it feels like we’re still in the dead of Winter here in the UK I’ve been desperately seeking the perfect face exfoliant. Something gentle yet effective that will give my skin a new lease of life, and rid it of dry patches and generally give my somewhat sallow complexion a bit of a kick start as Spring is (fingers crossed) just around the corner. Now of course I can fake it all day long, I can dust myself down in piles of Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder (I am so in love with it- perfection) and contour my cheeks all day long with Laguna, and ta dah I look nearly radiant. However I want the real deal- I want to have luminous radiant skin without all the slap.
Cue- Elemental Herbology the Facial Glow mask. EH are a brand I’ve long been intrigued by as their ingredients are 100% natural- no pesky mineral oils woohoo! They’ve been on the peripherals of my beauty vision for a while now and recently whilst on a Space NK peruse I was plied with quite a few sachet samples of the EH facial glow mask. Packed full of Papaya, Vitamin C and Manuka Honey it definitely sounded right up my street and with zero mineral oils I was fairly sure it wouldn’t aggravate my skin.
After pre-cleansing with my L’Oreal Micellar Water and cleansing with my Emma Hardie Moringa cleansing balm I slathered it onto my face and neck. It has a sort of grainy yet milky consistency synonomous with exfoliators, however, they were not too harsh- just grainy enough. It is barely noticeable on as it dries quite clear, so you don’t scare any boyfriends/husbands or family members whilst you wait for 4-10 minutes.
I left it on until I felt a tingle and then removed it with a warm flannel. My skin instantly felt baby smooth. I finished up with my usual Effaclar Duo and Dermalogica Intense Moisture Balance and went to bed.
The next morning I could hardly believe it, my complexion was completely boosted- totally clear and supple to touch. My makeup went on like a dream. This is definitely a product I intend to buy the full version of. I would recommend either using this once a week as an exfoliating and radiance enhancing mask/peel or if that feels too indulgent- save it for the night before a big event as the next day your skin will be beauty editorial good!
