Do Son- Diptyque

diptyque

I find fragrance a tricky one to blog about…but I’m going to try! Around 10 days ago at a L’Oreal blogger event Laura and I were chatting about Diptyque perfumes and she gave me a list of all of her favourites to try (I was off on holiday the next day and wanted something new), the very next day in Space NK I was spraying and sniffing Moehli (which I thought was going to be the winner) but then moved on to Laura’s first suggestion- Do son. I was immediately blown away by the gorgeous top notes of African orange flower, rose and iris, followed by the more mellow middle notes of tuberose (a favourite) and pink pepper. I knew it was the elusive one straight away. It’s floral enough to work on still, tropical Summer evenings abroad but also sharp and musky enough (the base notes are  benzoin and musk and I swear I detect a hint of jasmine somewhere too) to work its way seamlessly into Autumn and chillier London afternoons. I can’t imagine being without this now- I feel like at the grand old age of 22 I’ve found my signature fragrance. I’m well aware this all sounds a little gushing, but make your way to a Space NK and I defy you to dislike this perfume! For £50 for 50ml it isn’t a cheap treat, but one that will last- even though it’s eau de toilette it has incredible staying power so you don’t need much.
