After seeing countless tweets about how life changing the Dermalogica skinperfect primer is and then seeing Lisa Eldridge use it in one of her videos it’s safe to say I was intrigued. A quick trip to Selfrdiges later and I left with a 7ml sample. The first thing about this product which I love is the scent, it’s soapy minty and just a tad medicinal- doesn’t sound great but trust me it’s gorgeous. I was initially worried that the colour would wash my tanned skin out and make me look a little disjointed, however after a few seconds on the skin the primer adapts to any skin tone imparting a subtle glow and seamlessly skimming over any enlarged pores or imperfections. Make up glides on effortlessly over it without balling up in that annoying way that other primers allow. Since I’ve been on holiday a lot I’ve not had much of a chance to wear it as in the days I’m wearing SPF50 and at night I just go bare faced with a little concealer, but the days I have worn it I’ve felt amazing. A few of my favourite foundations don’t have SPF in them (Bourjois Healthy Mix, MAC face and body etc) and the broad spectrum SPF30 of the primer makes it a dream to combo with one of them. Similarly when worn with tinted moisturiser it ramps up the coverage that extra notch ensuring an airbrushed finish. As I’m only 22 I don’t have any fine lines yet, but the primer also promises to smooth them away. What’s not to love? Available now for £30.
