Here’s a post about a divisive nail colour. How, you say, could a mere nail varnish provoke such diversion and dispute, even amongst those who haven’t the first clue about beauty or cosmetics in general? Well, Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail polish in the shade Coconut is a bright white opaque polish, which is incredibly loud. You notice it. I painted my nails on Saturday night, and an hour later my fiance commented on them, instantly deeming them “tacky” and “your other colours are so much nicer”. Ditto my mother. However, friends and my sister have all begged me to tell them where I got them done, if they were shellac? etc. etc. I’m somewhere in the middle, I know I’m having a shellac manicure tomorrow before my holiday, and so knew the colour would only be on for a short amount of time, so I’m enjoying them as a short dalliance, however, any longer and I know I’d tire of them.

However, if you’re still under 21, I say rock these for as long as you can (they stay chip free for 8 days FYI, 9 at a push). The gelly formula is truly amazing and looks as glossy and sleek as a shellac mani. And I hate being a sucker for marketing, but the shade name “Coconut” just instantly puts me in a good mood. What are your thoughts on white nails, yay or nay?

They look so good but I’d NEED a tan to pull them off!

I love this polish! I think on short, neatly manicured nails this looks very chic, and it makes your tan look even deeper. Love xx
