Whilst at the Burberry makeup counter in Harvey Nichols over the weekend I started getting a little swatch happy with their lipstick collection. Their colours had always appealed and yet I’d never tried any of their makeup, let alone lipsticks. My favourite Kiko nude lippy got into a little bit of trouble and it is now incredibly shmushed and almost impossible to apply without getting lipstick all over my face, so a new nude (yet again) was on my mind.
I ended up purchasing Burberry Lip Mist Copper 202 which goes on like a balm but has the staying power of a lipstick. Now this isn’t a super pigmented colour – it is definitely on the sheerer side of things, it really does look like you have a gloss on over, which, to me, gives the effect of a fuller pout without one million different layers of liner/lipstick/gloss. You do need a few layers before you get the best out of the colour, which is slightly irritating as it is a pricy lipstick, so therefore you don’t want to waste. It lasts surprisingly well whilst eating though, leaving a “your lips but much better” effect (sans gloss) post dinner.
The packaging is dressing table worthy with a gunmetal grey heavy tube with a magnetic lid which clicks on with a rather satisfying sound. It is definitely a luxury product so feels like the ultimate indulgent treat, however, I’m determined to still use it as an every day product as it is the perfect indeterminable wash of brown toned pinky nude.
Burberry Lip Mists are available at the Burberry Beauty counters in Harvey Nichols and Harrods (and online) and are £22.
