Bronze Goddess

There’s something about a bronze eyeshadow that you just can’t beat- not as graphic as black, nor as cutesy as beige, it’s just right. It suits almost every skin tone and it works for both day and night, It’s pretty much the most versatile eyeshadow shade out there. Needless to say I’m always drawn into the same shades so have built up quite the collection- here’s my pick of the best.

For a nighttime smokey hue go for Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick Bad Girl Bronze to create a sexy but effortless look, this bronze is more chocolatey than others so is ideal for evening wear smudged along the lid and then dabbed under the waterline for a lived in look. For day time the absolutely must have is Maybelline 24 hr Colour Tattoo On and On the Bronze– I’m yet to meet someone who has tried it and hasn’t liked it, it has a slight shimmer but is ultimately a pale bronze which can be worn alone or as a base- every makeup kit should have this. When you want to ramp up the glitter stakes you can’t go wrong with Kiko Long Lasting Eyeshadow Pen 04 which reminds me of the By Terry shadow sticks, just as good quality but for a fraction of the price, worn all over the lid and on the water line screams PARTY but you can just smudge a small amount on the lid for a day time appropriate look- best worn with liquid liner and lashings of mascara. Something exciting is happening in September- Sainsbury’s are launching their very own beauty brand- Boutique and wow do they bring it when it comes to eyshadow quality, texture, longevity and shades, their All that Glitters is not Gold and Brownie Points are two bronze shades which everyone has to own. All that Glitters is not Gold has a gold warm hue which looks stunning on holiday, where as Brownie Points is a little more intense with more of a brown undertone- both must have bronze shadows.

These bronze beauties are my go to for when I’m undecided about my make up look, or for when I know I just need to look presentable quickly. Minimal contouring and shading is needed- just pop them on and off you go.
