Miss Selfridge Poncho, Sass & Bide Black Rat leggings, Topshop jumper, Zara shoes & (borrowed) CHANEL boy.
I’ve recently started using my tumblr account again. Whilst I post all my instagrams directly there it has been a while since I wrote an actual post on the site that has gone from being the cutting edge micro blogging site turned teenage hipster infested turned xxx rated turned relevant and ‘cool’ again. That is partly because I “moved out” of Tumblr back in 2013 when I set up camp over here on WordPress and started focussing primarily on beauty product reviews. I did that because I assumed you needed a glossy WordPress self hosted site with Canon 600d images of products close ups (usually held up against a back drop of a beautiful floral arrangement) and an array of swatches (you will all know that I’m not a fan of swatches, much to many of your dismay) to be taken seriously in the blogging sphere.
The blog has evolved a lot over my time (coming up to three years in January) and now I feature a lot more fashion and the outfits I wear. But what I’ve lost (and I fear that I lost it the day I stopped posting on Tumblr) is my personal voice. Not the voice trying to persuade you to try a new skincare brand, but the voice that used to write about trivial things such as social media, current affairs and pop culture. I’m going to attempt to strip things back and take my blog back to 2011 (albeit digitally much more advanced) in order to convey who I am as a person. If you want single product reviews with swatches and beautiful imagery then there’s a whole world full of just beauty blogs, if you want perfectly edited high quality fashion shoot images then there’s a whole host of fashion bloggers out their vying for your attention. However, if you want something full of opinions, my genuine outfits and styling tips, the products that seriously work and longer think pieces on deeper social issues then please do stick around as I’m excited for the content that I’ll be producing next…without ripping the 20 year old me off too much.
I love the poncho! Looks so comfy. Fits with the London weather x
