I’m off on a mini trip today for my husband’s birthday, which sadly means that I’ll be missing mother’s day this year…so instead my mummy and I decided to celebrate yesterday! Jo Malone were kind enough to invite us to their flagship Sloane Street store for hand and arm massages and a special treat for my mum. We started off with lunch at The Botanist in Sloane square, I couldn’t make up my mind on what I wanted so I had two starters and two sides – chilli salt squid, beef skewers, french fries and a mixed salad. My mum was a little bit more sophisticated and had the sea bass and a glass of prosecco.
After a delicious lunch in a beautiful setting we sauntered out into the mild and sunny Spring day and headed round the corner to Jo Malone. It was absolutely gorgeous in there, so serene and calm and my mum and I were treated to a beautiful vitamin E scrub followed by a soak and moisturise with Jo Malone products based on scents that we’d tested at the beginning.
My mum opted for white jasmine & mint with Amber & Patchouli on top whilst I went for Blue Agava & Cacoa – a tropical and sumptious scent with a spritz of Grapefruit on top. My mum was then presented with the most stunning floral box with her favourite fragrance – Amber & Patchouli – she was so surprised and overcome with emotion at the excitement!
We then went off to do a spot of shopping around Duke of York square (mostly Zara!) and I’m excited to show you the things we picked up! I vlogged the whole day so expect to see more of this in my vlog next week on my YouTube channel!
Now time for outfits – my mummy wore a beautiful khaki green Zara dress with Russell & Bromely Stuart Weitzman highland boots in pale grey with her Givenchy Antigona handbag and Chanel sunglasses. She accessorized with a Zara coat and Charlotte Simone faux fur popsicle.
I wore a pair of Zara trousers that I picked up last September with a Reformation tight knit long sleeved top, my Nasty Gal biker jacket, new shoes which are incredibly Aquazurra/Louboutin inspired (which are actually going to get a whole blog post on them coming soon!) and my Saint Laurent handbag and my Chanel sunglasses. I didn’t end up taking a photo but my mum and I were also wearing the same pair of Charlotte Olympia gold spiders web earrings! Great minds
We had such a special and lovely day, it means the world to me to be able to treat my mum who always does so much for all of us to something self indulgent and relaxing! I hope all the mummies out there have a wonderful weekend no matter what you’re up to!
Loved this post Tijan! You have such a lovely blog, and thank you for sharing bits of your life in such a beautiful way. It looks like you got to have a great day with your mom and loved both your outfits!! Sending you lots of love and positive vibes xx
