2015 in Review

Screen Shot 2015-12-28 at 11.22.112015 overall was a great year – we moved home and in the spate of two months I grew 10k new followers over on instagram. I went on some amazing trips and met wonderful people such as Suzie and Alix. I travelled to Greece, Romania, Italy, Russia, France and Germany amongst others and feel so grateful for the opportunities that took me there.

I’ve adapted with the times a bit as well, I’ve noticed that people read blogs less and less so put out less content on here but have upped my game over  on my instagram and YouTube channel – partaking in Vlogmas was a whirlwind of an experience, and I seem to now be having withdrawal symptoms as I’m now using Snapchat like a vlog *insert crying with laughter emoji here*.

I spent quality time with the people I love most in this world and for that I’m incredibly grateful, one memorable evening was going to see Taylor Swift in Hyde Park with my family – she was phenomenal. I have rediscovered some personal heroes, my family  – mainly my mother – will always be my number one idol, but I’ve also become drawn to people with warm, witty and larger than life personalities like Anna Kendrick, Taylor and Sir Ian McKellan. A random mix, but they all seem like genuinely good people who are above pettiness.

I’ve also realised that you can never please everyone, so you should focus on pleasing yourself and those close to you. I’ve become aware of how fragile the online world is, the South Park PC principle episodes echoes this perfectly – you will always offend someone in some way or another so it’s best not to pay attention to the hate. Not so long ago hateful comments used to cause me physical pain in my stomach – literally like a blow, now however it no longer has that affect and instead I’m more circumspect and let them slide right off. Dealing with hate is a part of growing up, if I cried over every mean comment I’d never get anything done, moving on and not responding is by far the best route to take.

My plans for 2016 are quite clear to me, to be the best possible version of myself, to not take frustration or stress out on those around me, to be level headed and not to take knock backs personally. I intend to persevere with my YouTube channel, back in the Summer I had all but given up on it as I found my content lacklustre and uninspired, Vlogmas has given me a new lease of life and appreciation for the platform and so I’m going to be producing regular content. However, my main goal is still more in the fashion sphere, to grow my blog and instagram presence and to continue to work with wonderful people and brands that I already do and hopefully some new.

As always I’m most grateful for my family, I’m nothing without them – they are my health, my wealth and everything in between and they keep me sane and a good person. I wish you all the happiest of New Years filled with determination, perseverance and optimism.
