Fresh is an American brand which first lured me in with their Sugar Lip Treatment balms, I’d heard great things about them and my favourite VS angel Lily Aldridge extolled the many virtues of them here.
Alas, I couldn’t find anywhere in the UK that stocked Fresh products and I wasn’t prepared to spend extra on import duty on an already pricey lip balm. That was until I discovered that not only do they stock in London but they have an entire shop on Marylebone High St (arguably the most eclectic and best shopping High St in London..maybe even Europe).
Jackpot! I went in and bought a few of the Lip Treatments (plain, Rose and Berry) and asked the sales assistants if they had any good skin care products that they would recommend for combination skin (that was going through a particularly hormonal phase), they very kindly put a sample of their Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask in a little sample pot for me to try.
I did some initial research on how to use the product as I didn’t have the full size bottle with the instructions and discovered that it actually has multi-purpose, it can be used as a cleanser and a spot treatment as well as a mask! Amazing. The consistency is watery and it has an earthy but pleasant scent, however, make sure you apply it quickly if using it as a mask as it dries in nanoseconds! I leave it on for 6 or 7 minutes and then take it off with a flannel soaked in warm water. My face feels incredibly soft and super clean and not at all dried out like after using some other clay masks. Sometimes I follow it up with Origins Drink Up overnight mask, or sometimes I’ll just carry on my normal skincare routine.
I love using this face mask once a week, either just before the weekend to truly get rid of all the dirt from the week, or after a looong journey. It purifies the skin, vanquishes whiteheads and, when used as a spot treatment, effectively reduces the size and redness of the blemish.
I absolutely love this mask and would count it as one of my must have skincare products.
My mum ended up buying me the full size for my stocking at Christmas so I’m not sure of what the UK RRP is but it is $48.00. So it’s not cheap but a little goes a long way- I’ve been using it once a week for three months and it still feels like it’s brand new and full.
So if you’re London based or visiting London it’s worth popping into the store, the sales assistants are helpful and generous with samples and it smells amazing in there, I’m looking forward to my next excuse to venture down there!
