I don’t know a single girl who would say no to fuller natural looking lips. There’s just something about a full pout that can turn an ordinary looking girl into a real show stopper. Rosie Huntington Whitely and Angelina Jolie are just two beauties who are renowned for their naturally bee stung pouts. However, fillers are not a good look- they’re addictive and no matter how far science has come they still look obvious and fake.
I’m always on the lookout for makeup that will make my average (not too thin but not generous by any means) lips into something a little more Jolie-esque. I’m quite excited to say that I think I’ve found the perfect equation for getting amazing fuller looking lips without having to go anywhere near Harley Street.
Use a lip stain that compliments your skin tone, I find that if you go a couple of shades darker than your natural colour, it will really define your lips without looking unnatrual.
Opt for a lip shade that compliments your skin tone perfectly, not too nude or light- go your lip shade and maybe even one darker- the appearance of a fuller pour instantly. Case in hand- Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick Rose, a few swipes of this and my lips look instantly more defined and thus fuller. On Saturday night I wore it out and my lips still looked amazing come 2am, similarly on Monday morning I dabbed a little on for a busy morning, and two coffees later my lips still looked pretty good. There’s something about a stain which is so satisfying, you don’t need to be all girly and continually reapplying lipstick (something I always get a little self conscious about), as it literally doesn’t budge, and it has the dual effect of outlining your lips so effortlessly that it gives the illusion of a ‘just bitten/swollen’ bee stung effect.
Full lips in 30 seconds- no cosmetic procedure necessary. First exfoliate lips with a damp flannel, next up apply a nourishing lip balm (I love Blistex Medplus), dab some lip stain on in your preferred colour (one shade darker than your natural, for the best effect) allow to dry, reapply to intensify colour and then add a small amount of gloss with your ring finger in the centre of your mouth- and voila. sumptuous lips that will stay put all day and night!
