Sheer Lipstick Edit

I love a good matte lip – they’re long lasting, incredibly pigmented and work perfectly with any makeup look. However, there’s something about the easy balminess of sheer lipsticks that just scream easy and not in a bad way – more a surfer chick throwing on a splash of colour without thinking twice. Here are my favourite formulas:

Lipstick Queen Medieval  – quite literally the queen of sheer lip colours, this is enriched with vitamin E that leaves lips feeling totally nourished, the wash of colour is also stunning – like you’ve just eaten a raspberry ice lolly.

Revlon Lip Butters – The Revlon lip butters are by far the best budget sheer lip on the market. Incredible shade ranges, gorgeous balmy texture, glossy finish and great colour payoff. A lot of bang for your buck. My favourites are Juicy Papaya and Peach Parfait.

Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipsticks – A creamy pigmented formula, these are the most long lasting of the bunch with excellent colour pay off. They’re not too pricy either and work well transitioning from day to night.

Korres Sheer lipstick – This Korres formula has SPF 15 making it perfect for holidays. The creamy texture leaves a balmy feeling on the lips and the tiniest amount of shimmer running throughout it. If you have a hot holiday coming up this one would be my top pick!

The matte lips are definitely my favorite, but you’re totally right about the easiness of a sheer lip. It just works. Especially on those days when you’re in a rush.
