Another week has come and go and I’m so excited by the vibrant cold weather we are having here in the UK. My mind feels a lot sharper in the Winter and as the days are shorter I feel more productive in the daylight hours.

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy and I’m relishing a Monday spent with no meetings planned for the whole day – I have one event this evening but other than that I am free to actually get stuff done which is definitely a change. I’d love to hear what you’d like to see more of on here? For starters I thought I’d round up some of my favourites from the past week – if you like this format I can continue making it a Sunday or Monday “thing”?

Base: Oh how I wish I didn’t have any hyperpigmentation or break outs – because if I didn’t you can bet your bottom dollar that I wouldn’t wear foundation. I’d probably wear a very very light tinted moisturiser and no concealer – not even under eyes and just some eyebrow pencil and a matte lip. That’s my dream makeup look and something I’ve been working on achieving whilst still getting my amped up coverage. My skin you see isn’t nearly as bad as it looks – I suffer from hyperpigmentation which means that my skin naturally discolours easily (even when there have been no breakouts) and goes crazy when I do, I’m currently trialling a new wonder product for breakouts/pigmentation that I bought myself off Amazon from American skincare company Drunk Elephant. Asides from the usual prang out over whether the seller is legit I used it last night and my face hasn’t fallen off so I have high hopes. I’ll keep you posted on my progress but if it works like the reviews say it should I should hopefully be one step closer to achieving my (nearly) no makeup face soon! I’ve been loving mixing a small amount of Suqqu Extra Rich Cream Foundation (this foundation is literally magic, non comedogenic and adds a glow that stays that way all day without any excess grease or shine – I hardly need to use my blotting paper and I never powder – it’s MAGIC), I dab that on all over to even the skin tone and then go in with the Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick to cover any blemishes and discolouration, I use a small amount and blend with my fingers. The result is incredibly natural. I’ve stopped using blushers/powders/bronzers/contour powders for the time being as I’m lucky that I have relatively good cheekbones and my skin naturally gets warmer and flushes as the day goes on without any blushers. I am on the hunt for products that mimic skin texture though – so if you know of any uber natural blushers/bronzers holla!

Hair: I’ve been a floozy with my hair and unlike my skin (which hates too many products) my hair loves it. I’ve been mixing and matching Philip B Oud Royal Forever  – amazing shampoo that leaves gorgeous results but I hate the scent of Oud – so I have been using the Nexxus Hair Mask as my conditioner to nourish and give me a more “me” scent. I’ve then been washing my hair every other time with Pureology Fullify shampoo which creates amazing volume and rids hair of product build up beautifully. I’ve been loving the results from all three brands!

Scent: I’ve been loving two fragrances – my L’Artisan Parfumer Mirabilis (love love love) and the Guerlain Shalimar Souffle which is a lighter take on the original. Both are very me and perfect Winter scents. I also went to the launch of Annick Goutal’s latest scent and I think I’ve found my new evening fragrance – more on that coming soon!

Warmth: I’ve been lucky enough to receive three new Winter coats in the space of a week – more on the other two later but the most snuggly has to be this beauty from Jaeger photographed above. It’s 100% shearling and the bordeaux colour adds a much needed pop of colour to my neutral outfits.

What have you been loving recently?

Have you tried the Daniel Sandler liquid blushes? Perfect for natural flush of colour.
