I’ve been really hesitant to try new skincare, as I’m getting ready for my wedding and don’t want to rock the proverbial skincare boat too much. However, I’d recently run out of my Skinceuticals Phyto Correct serum and was in the market for something hydrating and soothing. Along comes Jurlique Calendula Redness Rescue Restorative Treatment Serum (and breathe) and needless to say I was intrigued as it promises to both calm redness as well as sooth and hydrate. I’ve been trialling it for the last three weeks or so and my initial thoughts are that it does a good job at immediately bringing down redness – especially around blemishes. It hydrates, but it initially leaves a tacky feeling on the skin which I don’t personally mind, but some people might. The scent is typical calendula, fresh, cucumberry and again maybe a little over powering for some people. However, a product that delivers instant results is a winner in my book, I’ll be keeping a bottle of the serum close to hand for when my skin feels inflamed and in need of a cooling and soothing helping hand.
It’s sister product, the Calming Mist leaves skin totally soothed, I can imagine this would work wonders if you suffer from sore redness in the Summer months from too much sun. I love spritzing it on when my skin doesn’t look or feel too happy, and along with the serum the two work in conjunction to relieve the pain of any sore spots and diminish them in both redness and size. A good couple of gentle and effective products to have to hand if you suffer from blemishes, redness or sensitive skin in general. I also notice a definite glowy radiance in my skin the morning after using the products, so after all, I’m pretty thrilled I did rock my skincare boat and mix things up a little!
