Feline flicks & Hair updates

I thought I’d do a chatty post today instead of the usual. Two things on my mind are currently eyeliner and my hair colour. Wow – I can’t believe that this time last year I was a politics student!

After having had my roots redone last week and feeling overall a lot lighter, I’ve made the final decision that I want to be more natural for my wedding day and go darker. As I have a lot of colour on my hair it bleaches really quickly in the sun so it’s a little pointless trying to go dark now as it will only fade when I go on my Summer holiday in a few months. Instead I’m going to put some low lights in after my July holiday, and then continue to go darker and darker so that by the time we’ve reached September I should hopefully be at my desired wedding hair colour. I have an awesome colourist that prefers me slightly blonder than darker, so she always convinces me to ‘reverse highlight’ my hair. This means that instead of putting an all over tint or chunky lowlights, she retains some of the golden tones and keeps them back away from the colour, so that at the end I look like a brunette with a few subtle golden highlights. The end result has always made me really happy in the past. I think I just feel more me as a brunette, and I feel like it’s more timeless for the wedding photographs.

As for the feline flick, it was a look that I perfected when my mum taught me at the age of 13 when I was going to a school disco and I never forgot. Having my roots lighter I wanted to accentuate my darker features and so I stepped away from my usual dark blue kohl and opted for my neglected black liquid liner, and drew a simple feline flick. And you know what? I’m obsessed again! It’s my new go-to. Let me know what you think?

The eyeliner and hair really suit you, but I think it’s a great idea to go more classic and natural for your wedding. As for the posts, I like a balance of chat and info :). It’s nice to hear some ramblings every now and then, rather than just being “sold at” all the time!!
