In Paris on Monday at Oh My Cream! Having a skincare workshop, the lovely lady recommended I try the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (from henceforth, I shall be referring to it simply as – Aura). When I seemed hesitant both Suzie and Alix immediately sung its praises, and I knew I had to try. Anything that boasts being anti-bacterial, soothing and hydrating piques my intrigue.
Manuka honey is a wonderful ingredient as it is anti bacterial as well as boosting moisture and hydration, the other ingredients such as vanilla pod are designed to soothe your aura, so to calm your soul as well as give you bloody beautiful skin. Well I can vouch that the scent is pretty incredible, and anyone who loves vanilla as much as I do will not be disappointed.
What about the results? Well, this mask is best used if you smother on thick and indulgent layers, after doing so both last night and on Monday I am thrilled to report that any redness and angry blemishes were immediately quelled. My skin last night was unhappy, I’d been under the weather for the last few days and I had been picking at a few spots which had only made them angrier (bad habbit yada yada), but after 10 minutes of the mask everything was calm and this morning I’ve awoken to a totally clear, nourished and bright complexion. This will be in my stocks for a long time I can already tell it’s going to be a twice weekly ritual. You can also use it as a treatment to spot treat blemishes without overly drying them out – result!

I always read about DIY face masks with honey and while it sounds nice, I imagine it would be the hardest thing to get off your face! But a nice mask like this, with just a *little* honey for all its antibacterial properties would be ideal.
Thanks Tijan, I’ll give this one a go when my skin is next looking spotty! xx
Will be buying this today after your review, I keep meaning to try it in hope of my acne finally disappearing.
